Travel tips from a travel buff (Part 2)

Part 2: During the trip

  • Check-in what should be checked-in

-Don’t forget checking your water, scissors, and Swiss knife in. Else, end up losing those.

  • Grab a map

- There usually are free maps in the airport. Find time to know the place.

  • Befriend a local

- The first local you’ll probably meet is your taxi driver. Befriend him. He knows the place and will probably share a tip or 2 regarding your destination.

  • Trust and be friendly with your guide

- First rule when interacting with your tourist guide: know his name. Ask his name immediately. It’s saying you’re acknowledging him and you’re glad of his service.

  • Interact with the local

- Have a friendly attitude. Treat the locals with respect and they’ll respect you as well. Locals from the province are good people. Trust and mingle with them, Do so and you’ll probably get the best service (and for sure that you’re safe and the boat man will not drown you… haha) Small talks are best during travels

  • Maximize your time

- This depends on the type of traveler you are. Bummers would probably maximize their time by enjoying sleep in the beach. Adventurers would probably maximize their time by setting up a time-limit for every destination/tourist spot they like to see. Just remember to enjoy it and don’t stress yourself up.

  • Indulge/Eat

- Reward yourself at least every night for a god day. Indulge. Be merry. And get yourself ready for the next day.

  • Stick with your budget

- Who says that a low-budget travel means less enjoyment? The less budget you have, the more ideas you’ll have to stick with your budget, the more exciting your travel becomes.

  • For group travels, assign a leader

- To avoid conflicts, make sure that one member is the designated leader who will make the decision in times of misunderstandings.

  • For group travels, assign a treasurer

- To avoid chipping-in for every expense, assign one person to handle the money. He’ll be in charge of paying all the group expenses. Of course, you need to give money to the treasurer beforehand.

  • For group travels, assign a photographer

- It is advisable to have few cameras during the trip. You’ll have the same face in those cameras anyway. This way, you’ll save time and effort from setting up all those cameras. Of course, this would suffice only if the person wanted to be the official photographer.

  • Enjoy the trip

- Trips are never meant to stress a person out. So just enjoy the trip as much as possible.

That’s it. Travel and be happy.
