Macau Itinerary

Macau Tower

Macau Tower

Here is the updated itinerary of me and my boyfriend’s trip to Macau last January 2009. Our arrival date there was January2, a high peak season for touring, so if you want to pattern your itinerary with ours. Do except a much cheaper version if traveling on low-peak season.

All locations are divided in blocks, to determine how far each tourist spot is from each other. We were only able to accomplish about 80% of this itinerary.

WOW, thanks for the very detailed itinerary. It is very, very helpful. I just have one question though if you don’t mind. Looks like everything I want to see in Macau is in the Leal Senado are, How do I go there from the ferry terminal?

    • japanesecake says:

      @ace
Hi ace, I guess you can grab a map(provided free by the tourism government there) at the ferry terminal. You can check on the map the bus routes that go to Senado Square. Hope that helps. :)

hi! ill be going to macau on feb 19-20. with my husband and my 7 year old daughter.we have the same time of arrival and the same hotel too. but since will be arriving late already can you suggest where can we still go besides going to casinos? since my daughter is coming with us. what do you think are the most relevant places that we should visit on the following day? because at around 4 or 5pm will be heading to hongkong. we definitely want to go to venetian. do you think we still have time to go there? tnx!

      @gen
      hi gen,

I think you should go to the ‘essential spots’ of Macau. Like the venetian, macau tower, ruins of saint paul.
You can check out Macau Fisherman’s Wharf, I think your daughter will love that place.

      Thanks!

Hi! Thank you so much for the detailed itinerary. It will be a great help to us. Me and my family will be going to Macau this August but we’ll be leaving via Hongkong. Our first stop from the Philippines is Hongkong then we’ll go to Macau and stay for 2-3 days.

    • json says:

Hi! We will be planning to follow your itinerary. Just want to ask what hotel did you stayed in and where, and how to get to that hotel from airport.. Thanks!

    • json says:

Oh! Sorry! Haven’t read the bottom part yet…Thanks anyways! Good information!

In September, I will have my first trip abroad to Hong Kong and Macau with my friends.

We will arrive in Hong Kong on 12 midnight… and we decided that we will head straight to Macau (after leaving our bags in a hostel in Hong Kong).

We thought of heading straight to Fisherman’s Wharf upon arrival and then proceed to Venetian, Senado Square, Ruins of St. Paul’s and the A-ma Temple… However, we want to maximize our stay there and we are afraid we might miss a couple of places that we can just cram in our DIY itinerary.

Do you mind helping me and my friends with our itinerary? With very limited time (we will only stay in Macau till lunch time) and money to spend (more or less 10K), we do need some tips from those who have already been there.

      Thank you :)

    • Dee says:

Hi! This post is great! Just like to ask you,
which bus stop is ah-ma temple situated at?
templo a ma? Where did you board the bus? And the bus they only accept macau cash and no other cash?
      Thank you so much!

    • japanesecake says:

      Hi Dee,

To go to A-ma, we went to the nearest bus stop near our hotel (Royal Hotel). The bus stop was just in front of Vasco de Gama plaza. We took bus #18. As you can see from the Block A description above. :)

It’s better that you grab a map once you get to Macau, just to be sure. It’s free :)

Yes buses only accepts macau cash. Make sure you have coins cause you have to pay the exact fare.

      Thanks for dropping by :)

    • joy says:

      hello!
may entrance fee ba sa venetian?

    • sheeryl says:

      Hi there Joy!.
I just came from Macau last August 23, 2010. To answer your query if there is an entrance fee in Venetian Hotel, actually there is none. You can tour around this hotel/casino for free and see the stunning architectural works inside the hotel.

    • lem says:

    • Travelling _Daisy says:

      Hi there!

You have a very informative blog. I got some tips here for our coming Macau trip. We’ll be staying in the same hotel as yours (Hotel Royal). May I just ask how far is the hotel from Grand Lisboa/Wynn? Walking distance or we need to get on a bus/taxi? Is the limited shuttle service of Hotel Royal a problem? Lastly, is there a bus stop near the hotel?

Thank you and hope to hear your feedback soon.

      • japanesecake says:

        Hi Daisy,

yes, the casino’s are walking distance. Just follow the giant pineapple (casino lisboa building). We didnt have a problem with the shuttle service, you just have to tell them in advance wherever it is you want to go. And yes, there is a bus stop in front of the hotel. Right after vasco de gama plaza :)

    • Leo says:

      Hi there,
I love you itinerary and will follow it but will do some changes a bit. Since were coming form Hongkong Im thinking to start at Fisherman’s wharf since you said its close to macau ferry terminal then take taxi or bus to macau tower then following your Block A to F then venetian. DO you think we’ll have enough time? and do they accept hongkong dollars? Im open to any suggestions. Awesome BLog very helpful. MOre power to you. Salamat ng marami.
