How to go to Hagimit Falls

From the port pier at Samal Island, we hired two habal habal drivers to take us on a tour. Cost of each driver is around P300.

What to See

(For the complete itinerary of our tour in Davao, see this link: Davao itinerary)

From the main road, Hagimit falls would take around 15-20 minutes to arrive there. The road is pretty rough, so habal-habal is the recommended transportation to go there.

There is a gate at the entrance to Hagimit falls, where an entrance of P30 is required. From the gate, you have to walk to get inside the compound of Hagimit falls. We passed by a group of kids who had just finished doing laundry at Hagimit’s stream.

We made Hagimit as our rest-stop, after visiting 2 other spots. It was lunch time then, and we want to make use of our time efficiently. Good thing there are street foods available in Hagimit. There was a make-shift store their which sells rice and ulam, including softdrinks and snacks.

What we bought there was the yummy barbecued banana, covered in margarine and sugar. This was the first time I ate this food, genius! hehe.

After that, we set up our sarong, and had a little picnic at Hagimit. We gave Wacky and the other guy (our Habal-habal drivers) the same food we ate: A softdrink, one barbecued banana and chicken sandwich, that is our lunch :D .

Fares and Fees

  • Entrance Fee: P30.00
  • Habal-Habal Tour: About P300 per motor.

      Hello Rein!

I never go to Davao yet but I’m sked this coming March 10-14 since my cousin is working there, dun kasi sya naka-destino ngayon, anyway kung nasa Davao City proper ka lang, My Hotel is the newest yet the cheapest hotel there, the place is really good daw at bago pa facilities, I think late 2008 or early 2009 lang sya nag-launch. Here’s their website: http://www.myhoteldavao.com. Kung sa paligid ligid ka naman ng Davao, mas cheaper ang accommodation, mas okay kung madami kayo and walk in, Sa Samal ganun din, hindi pa naman peak season, kung may busget syempre the best Pearl Farm, then other not as expensive as Pearl Farm are Paradise Resort Davao, Bluejaz Resort Davao, then cheaper naman like Fernandez resort, check this site http://www.samalbeaches.com.
Sabi ng cousin ko sa part pa lang daw ng Mt. Apo marami ng activities na pwedeng gawin, maybe you can try it too, and of course the wild water rafting, croco farm, zipline, eagle sanctuary. Hope my information helps, ako kasi gumagawa ng itinerary namin now that’s why somehow I have an idea… Enjoy your trip…

I have lived on and off Samal since 2006. Hagimit used to be a really beautiful natural place. But in the last year it has been cemented all over the place and you have to pay just to sit at a table. You can’t jump or dive in anymore. It has really been spoiled by development. As is the whole of Samal quite quickly becoming overdeveloped. It’s a shame!

hi. im planning to visit samal next week. i find your post very helpful. i was just wondering if the 300 pesos habal habal fare included the transportation back to the port pier after the tour. thank you so much. :)

    • John says:

Somebody needs to post some new photos of Hagimit. It’s no longer beautiful and natural. Its developed and expensive.
