How to go there
From North Point station near our hotel, we took the MTR station going to ‘Central Station’. In central station, just follow the labels to The Peak exit.

MTR Map
At the base of the peak is the ticket counter going there, Jeff and I bought two round-trip tickets for the tram ride going up The Peak.
We then went to Madamme Tussauds ticket counter just across the ticket counter going to The Peak. We didn’t know that Madamme Tussauds offers package tickets going there, which consist of entrance fee to Madamme Tussauds and round-trip ride going to The Peak. We refunded the ticket we bought from The Peak ticket counter and took the Madamme Tussauds package instead.
What to See – The Peak Tram
Part of the tour in the Peak is the tram ride itself. Why so? Well isn’t it cool being pulled by a cable line up to a steep mountain? Well to us touring there it was. hehe.
It’s one of Hongkong’s historic locations as this was first operated in 1888. In fact, just at the base of The Peak tram station are artifacts of the tram from way back.
In the ride, you’ll be able to take a view of Hongkong. Jeff and I sat on the two-seater seats, and most of the view we got were rocks, hehe. So when you get there, better take the three-seater seats.
Nature Walks and Hongkong overlook
At the Peak tram station, the only exit is through this mall. From there you have to go up to get out of the mall and to The Peak itself. We found good and cheap souvenirs from this mall.
The Peak itself is sort of a park. They have pathways for people wanting to roam around there. We followed this one street there, and ended up to this secluded overlook of Hongkong, or until some tourists followed us going there.
This is the part of the Peak, where you’d get an official tourist view of Hongkong. It’s best to go here at night, but in Jeff and I’s case, we chose to go in the morning to keep our schedule.
There is also a mall and souvenir shops in the Peak.
