Yey! Kathangisip.com is now on it’s third theme. I was previously using the cuikai theme from wordpress, and now I’ve decided to built me my own theme for the site.

I’ve added new functionalities that are specific to my travel site. Here are the hightlights of the new theme.

First off, we have a brand new header design, which is a sort-of-collage of all the pictures I’ve taken from our travels.

I’ve also added a menu for browsing through the places we’ve been, which can be found on the upper section of every page.

And we also have an expanded footer which lists our facebook fan page, a shortened ‘about’, and a list of the site’s social connections.

If you clicked on the ‘Browse by Places’ items, it will take you to the category page of the place.

a featured post is displayed on the sidebar for each category.

 

A list of related post for each posts are listed on the sidebar.

I’ve also updated the comment list to display as an expanding and collapsing panels. Click on the ‘collapse/expand’ text to show or hide comments from view.

Content wise, I also have an archive and sitemap page for the archives of our post since we have started.  Both links are located at the header and footer section.
