If you’re going to visit Cebu, of course you have to take home their famous dried danggit as pasalubong.
Danggit – in english is Rabbit fish or spine foot, these are then halved, dried and sometimes salted. It usually comes in different variants – they have the boneless danggit, which costs more than the regular ones. You can also choose between salted, and unsalted. In our case we got the boneless salted ones.
Where to buy
If you want to get these pasalubong at a reasonable price, it’s best to go to Taboan Market in Cebu. There are lots of dried sea foods sellers in this area, you can haggle the price among them until you get the best one.
Danggit is best eaten with champorado. In my opinion, at least. Salap! hehe
You can also get your other pasalubong’s here, like dried mango’s, otap and candies.
